Looking Ahead with The Middleburg Players
This Fall, The Middleburg Players hope to entertain you with a cabaret. The term is a French word for the taprooms or cafés where this form of entertainment was born, as a more artistic type of café-chantant. Cabaret is a form of entertainment featuring comedy, song, and dance distinguished mainly by the performance venue — a restaurant or nightclub atmosphere with a stage for performances and the audience sitting at tables (often dining or drinking) watching the performance. On November 7,8 & 9, at Buchanan Hall, we will regale you with music and refreshments to lighten the heart.
The Players are beginning a new phase…The Next Generation Young Director’s Program. We are encouraging young thespians to take the helm of some of our future productions. In January,
in line with current political events, we will perform Frost/Nixon on January 16, 17 and 18 just prior to the inauguration of our next president.
Next summer we are planning on a theatre camp for youth, leading up to a performance at the end of the camp.
October will bring a special Halloween Gala with costume and song! Pencil in October 31st, 2009 for the best Halloween party ever!
